Bio
Jess Frantzen grew up on a small family farm (now certified organic) near Alta Vista, Iowa. After completing high school in New Hampton (IA), she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Buena Vista University, Storm Lake (IA) in 2002. In 2008, Jess earned her Master of Science degree, Special Populations: EBD, at Minnesota State University, Mankato. She currently teaches K-12 visual arts at Zumbro Education District setting four, a school for students with severe emotional and behavioral disorders. Jess resides in Rochester, Minnesota with her wife Michelle and their son Beckett.
In 2010, her oil paintings were showcased in a solo exhibit at the Carnegie Cultural Center in her home town of New Hampton. A collection of Frantzen's work was also on display as part of the Owatonna (MN) Hospital Healing Arts Spring/Summer 2014 Exhibit. Jess displays her work in local galleries and shows throughout the year.
